Your filter works hard behind the scenes to remove Chlorine and other minerals such as aluminium, copper, iron, lead, magnesium, mercury, and zinc from your water to assist with hair and skin health. But you have to remember to change your cartridge so it is most effective!
When it comes to changing your filter cartridge there are many signs that indicate this.
The general guideline is to change your cartridge every 3 months if the shower is used by 3-4 people and every 6 months if your shower is used by 1-2 people.
But of course, water all around the world has different levels of minerals and impurities; so many different factors are taken into consideration such as:
-
How old is your house?
-
Are your pipes copper?
-
Location?
-
Are you in a mining or agricultural region?
-
What is your water source? Is it rainwater or groundwater?
So how can you tell when your filter needs to be changed?
-
Hair begins to feel dry, dull & rough
-
Your skin starts to feel irritated, tight & dry after showering
-
If you're blonde, you may notice your blonde becoming brassy quite quickly
-
Water pressure is not affected by the filter but right at the end of the cartridges use you may notice a decrease in water pressure
-
Mineral build up can start to increase in your shower, such as on your hardware and glass
